Skating!

Taylor's Family presented Sunshine Day School with this very special flag display and dedication certificate.
We are so appreciative of this gift! It is a very special treasure.
The Rainbow 4s had a great time skating together at the skating rink.  It was so much fun to watch them playing and laughing together.
Mrs. Holly outdid herself with this super cute cupcake-cake.
We definitely have some pro-skaters in the SDS family!
The children enjoyed spending time together one last time...
before it is off to kindergarten.
 Mrs. Renee' can really skate!

We hope you all have a great rest of the summer! See you soon!

Gone Fishin'

So after the Beach Blast we headed to the farm for the Sunshine 4s Happy Trails Camping Party.

Please no one tell Winds that she is not 4.  She totally thinks that she is...

Our first campers/fishermen!  They look ready.  Just need to stop by the bug spray basket! LOL

I am pretty sure that no one had more fun than these 2, playing in the tents.

More fishermen!  They were serious fishermen too!

This is one brave mommy!  2 kids, 2 fishing poles, they did great!

 Time to eat camp-fire style!

The signs were right!  Beware of giant marshmallows- especially if they are on fire and flying through the air!!!

It was so nice to see the children exploring and enjoying nature.  This experience made us all want to go camping.
CGO is checking out the " Bait Buffet".  You should have seen her handle those worms!

Happy Trails to you, sweet girls and boys.  We will miss you next year, but know that we have to share you with new teachers.

Thank you to Miss Ashley and her entire family, as well as the Parks family for hosting this end of the year celebration.  It was a wonderful experience for the children, one they will not soon forget.  Our prayers were answered and we had an absolutely beautiful night!

Beach Party

Wow! Miss Georgia feels like a party animal!  We started the day with our 3s end of the year celebration down at Topsail Beach.

Grace's family had everything fixed up just right for us.  Everyone loved the super squirters!

I think this was the only moment in the whole day that these mamas sat down.  It was a busy, but fun day together!
Twins!

 Okay, lets fly this kite!
The beach balls were super fun to chase!
The beach was just like a giant sandbox!
We had a delicious picnic lunch.  Thank you to Grace's dad for the great cooking!
One day these boys will WANT to sit with the girls...
 Time for cupcakes!
 YUM!
To top it all off, Miss Karlee Sue presented me with this precious painting which featured a sunshine made from each child's hand-print.  What a treasure!  Can't wait to hang it in my kitchen.

The beach basket goody bags were a little light after our trip to the beach!  We used up all of the bubbles, ate the snacks, and flew the kites.  I could't imagine a better way to end the year.  It was such a special day with some fantastic kids!  We love you and can't wait to see you shine next year as 4 year olds!

Ocean Adventure!

We are just home from what must have been the best field trip ever!  Our 4s  embarked on an Ecological Marine Adventure down at Topsail Beach.

We worked through many different centers.  Here the children are making a rainbow fish.

We had a story time where we learned about 2 sea creatures, the Octopus and the Ray.

We spent some time investigating some very cool creatures in the touch tanks.  Here S and K are touching sea urchins.  The coolest thing about all of these creatures is that they are collected right from the water on our beach, then returned their natural habitat.

Here H, D, and E are being very brave and handling a spider crab.

Things got a little silly with the sea squirts today!

Each participant got to drive the R.O.V.(remotely operated underwater vehicle).

We also got to explore "surprise seaweed".  Each child got a tray of seaweed.  Then they looked all through it to see what they could find.

Here C is using the microscope to look more closely at a snail that he found.

Then we headed off to the beach for an ocean adventure walk.  We saw many types of seaweed, jelly fish, and ghost crab holes.

We learned to use seine nets and we dragged them to the water.  We caught some neat things in our net.

Like all good things, our time together came to an end.  We had a wonderful experience.  If you have not tired Ecological Marine Adventures, I recommend that you do!  Check them out on FB or their webpage.  They offer many fantastic learning opportunities throughout the summer.  Thank you to Miss Kathleen and her friends for their kindness today.  Thank you also to each and every family member that traveled with us and made this such a great experience for the children!
