Community Adventure: Wallace Animal Hospital

Today we learned in a new classroom...
As a culminating event for our community helper unit our 4s visited Wallace Animal Hospital.
We worked alongside the staff and had such a memorable learning experience.

We worked in reception where we learned to answer the phone, check patients in, and arrange the inventory.

We worked with an assistant to give this sweet patient a bath!

Then we observed Dr Blanton as he examined Dusty.

We took notes on our pet health recording sheet.

Each future doctor used the veterinarians's tools, like this microscope.

Finally it was time for surgery. We watched it get started and decided to head home before anyone passed out!
We had a busy morning working at the hospital. We experienced how numbers and letters are used in real life. We found out how you can become a veterinarian. And we loved meeting our new friends!
