Today we embarked on an African Safari.
First stop was the Wild Animal Hospital where the animals received top notch care from our little veterinarians!
We listened to traditional music from several regions of Africa, then we made our own.
We tried to mimic the rhythms that we heard.
We read a story about a hungry lion. His tummy rumbled so loudly that he woke up his lion cub.
Our tummies started rumbling too, so we made lion face cookies.
The boy and girls used their awesome listening ears and followed step-by-step directions
to create these tasty cookies. It was SO hard to receive the ingredients and not eat them, but they did it!
It was a rainy day on the savanna, so we played inside.
After a serious bear hunt, we used beanie bag animals and did the bean bag boogie.
Time to decorate our drums.
And try them out!
We learned to count in Swahili! With each number, we tapped our drums that many times.
How cool?!? Now you can try this at home!
